Sports section

No motorsports photography blog would be worth anything without the sports bike section - AND its is the mandatory (for me!) Ducati shot. So here is a crop shot of Nicko on the yummy Ducati 999R for his first and final run at the Tri -Series.

And another one

...and sometimes it doesn't matter how far , or how dramatic the swinger swings, that wheel just isn't going down at all!!

Tri Series - Rd 1

1st Round of the 2008 Tri Series - doncha' just love the classic sidecars? You can't help but have a giggle when you see the efforts of the riders and their swingers trying to keep all wheels on the ground when cornering.

I took quite a few shots - this one I love. Grandad is doing the steering and granddaughter is using all of her weight (albeit she looks a wee slip of a thing!) to keep the rubber down!

Here is a belated pic of Ms Streifler about to break a standing start NZ speed record on the stunningly sexy looking (and sounding) MV Tambourini

Check out the reflection in his visor :)

Sprints

Couple of shots from today. Blisteringly hot, and no respite from the full sun making quality shots a little difficult to achieve.

Sprints - Waiarapa

Tomorrow (Sunday 30th November 2008), I am off to the Cliffhanger Promotions Event just out of Carterton in the Waiarapa for sprint events.

I am a bit disappointed as I tried to get hold of 1.4 lens extender but unfortunately WPS has nothing in stock. I ordered from last week so am hopeful that I will have something in by the time the the road race calendar hits us on the 20th December at Manfeild (rd 1), Boxing day at Wanganui, and then Taupo for 27th and 28th. Still thinking about Nelson..... will probably be still thinking about Nelson Port races 'till it's too late! Doh!!!

The sprints are held a couple of times a year at this location and there is always something there for the adventurous. Have to say that it is damned hard taking a photo of something whizzing past you at 300+ kph, but hell I am up for it.

Watch this space! If I manage to get anything even passable you lot are going to get an eyeful. :) talking about an eyeful - keep an eye out on the latest BRM and FM Riders mags - articles and photos by yours truely. More to come I am sure :-)

Also I am in the process of setting up an 'online studio' (as opposed to a stock photography website). Still very much in the design stage - but will pop up my URL as soon as it has something worth looking at.

In the meantime - here is the mandatory bit of bike porn....
